Terms of Use

Effective date:

October 24, 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Sathe app and website. By installing or using Sathe, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. What Sathe is

Sathe is a tool for recording and reviewing your own income, spending, assets, liabilities, budgets and goals. It works on your device, and you provide all the information.

2. Licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Sathe on devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the app, and you may not reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction. You may not use the app for anything unlawful.

3. Your data and your responsibility

Your information stays on your device. That means you are responsible for it. We cannot recover entries, backups, PINs or passphrases that you lose or delete. Please back up regularly and keep your backup passphrase somewhere safe.

4. Not financial advice

Sathe is a record-keeping tool. Nothing in the app or on our website is financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Please see the Legal Disclaimers page.

5. Paid features

Some features may require a purchase. Payments, receipts and refunds are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google’s terms and refund policies. Prices may change, and a change will not affect a purchase you have already made.

6. Changes and availability

We may update, change or remove features, or stop offering the app. We aim to give notice of important changes in the app or on our website. We do not promise that the app will always be available or free of errors.

7. No warranty

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sathe is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, income or profit, arising from your use of Sathe or inability to use it. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or [a nominal amount, such as USD 10] if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Ending your use

You can stop using Sathe at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling or choosing Delete all data removes your data from the device. We may end or restrict your access if you break these terms.

10. Third-party components and credits

Sathe uses open-source software and fonts that are licensed under their own terms, including the Atkinson Hyperlegible Next and Instrument Serif fonts (SIL Open Font License) and [icon library and other libraries, with their licences]. [Add the required copyright and licence notices on an “About” or “Open source licences” page in the app.]

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, or the jurisdiction you choose, and the courts of Kandy have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and continued use after an update means you accept it. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or on our website.
